MUNTINLUPA CITY — Women entrepreneurs in Muntinlupa are set to expand their reach and impact following a P4 million modernization of the Muntinlupa Training and Resource Center for Women (MTRCW).
The Department of Agriculture (DA), through its KADIWA Financial Grant Assistance Program, provided P2.5 million for the upgrade, while the Muntinlupa city government added P1.5 million to complete the investment.
The upgraded facility now features modern meat and fish processing equipment, allowing local women’s cooperatives to produce preservative-free tapa, tocino, longganisa, bangus, and other value-added products. These improvements are expected to strengthen food safety compliance, enhance product quality, and improve competitiveness in the market.
DA Assistant Secretary for Agribusiness, Marketing, and Consumer Affairs Atty. Genevieve E. Velicaria-Guevarra emphasized the broader impact of the initiative. “This project empowers women, boosts their income, and strengthens food security in the community,” she said.
Sen. Imee Marcos highlighted the program’s role in fostering women-led businesses. “Through KADIWA, women gain the tools to grow enterprises, deliver quality food, and contribute to stronger communities,” she said during Women’s Month celebrations.
Mayor Ruffy Biazon thanked national partners for supporting local livelihoods. “This assistance uplifts our women and strengthens Muntinlupa’s economy. Programs like this make a tangible difference for the community,” he said.
