PH agriculture output rises 2.6% to ?1.77 trillion in 2025

MANILA – The Philippines’ agriculture sector rebounded in 2025, posting a total production value of ₱1.771 trillion, the highest level recorded in the past five years.

Data from the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) showed that the combined value of production from crops, livestock, poultry, and fisheries increased by 2.6 percent from ₱1.726 trillion the previous year.

In 2024, agricultural output declined by 2.2 percent as the sector grappled with the impact of tropical cyclones, the El Niño phenomenon, as well as pest and animal disease outbreaks.

Speaking at a press briefing in Quezon City on Wednesday, Arnel de Mesa, spokesperson and assistant secretary of the Department of Agriculture (Philippines), said the sector’s performance exceeded the government’s target growth rate of 1 to 2 percent for the year.

“This is a testament that despite the challenges, both from changing weather conditions and animal diseases, the sector remains resilient,” de Mesa said.
