SAN JOSE DE BUENAVISTA, Antique – Around 40 exhibitors are set to participate in the first Kadiwa ng Pangulo (KNP) market of the year in Antique, offering rice, vegetables, and other locally produced goods to consumers.
The three-day event will run from April 29 to May 1 at the lobby of the Old Antique Capitol, according to Ge Anthony Recopuerto, KNP focal person from the Office of the Provincial Agriculturist.
Recopuerto said the timing of the event aligns with the harvest season of upland farmers in San Remigio, ensuring a fresh supply of vegetables for buyers.
Affordable rice will also be available, to be sold by the Kamapat Agriculture Cooperative as part of efforts to provide accessible food options to the public.
In addition to sales, exhibitors will receive a daily wage of PHP513 through the Tulong Panghanapbuhay sa Ating Disadvantaged/Displaced Workers (TUPAD) program of the Department of Labor and Employment, giving them an added source of income during the event.
The provincial government plans to hold five Kadiwa ng Pangulo markets this year to further support farmers and micro, small, and medium enterprises by expanding their market opportunities and helping boost their earnings amid ongoing economic challenges.
