Malacañang Distributes Benguet Vegetables to NCR Communities

The Office of the President of the Philippines has distributed hundreds of kilos of vegetables sourced from Benguet to communities across the National Capital Region (NCR), as part of efforts to support both farmers and urban households.

The produce was purchased during President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.’s recent visit to the La Trinidad Vegetable Trading Post and the Benguet Agri-Pinoy Trading Center.

Initial deliveries were made to local government units in Quezon City and Pasay City. In Quezon City, the vegetables were brought to City Hall, while in Pasay, they were delivered to the Philippine School for the Blind for distribution to residents.

Pasay City Mayor Emi Calixto-Rubiano expressed gratitude, noting that the vegetables would be given to identified families in need.

Additional deliveries were sent to Caloocan City, Navotas, and Malabon, with drop-off points including city halls, convention centers, and barangay facilities.

Other distribution sites include facilities of the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) in NCR, as well as the Bureau of Corrections facility in Muntinlupa City, the Manila City Jail, and the Delpan Sports Complex in Manila.

The initiative forms part of the government’s broader push to provide food assistance while supporting farmers by directly sourcing produce from key agricultural areas like Benguet.
