BC AGRI-System Launches Climate-Smart Food Security Initiative in Barangay Balibago, Angeles City

Modern Farming Workshop Promotes Urban Agriculture, Livelihood, and Community Food Security

ANGELES CITY, Pampanga – In a significant step toward strengthening community food security and promoting sustainable urban agriculture, BC AGRI-System, a flagship initiative of Biorganism Corporation in partnership with BB 88 Advertising and Digital Solutions Inc., successfully conducted a Climate-Smart Agriculture Workshop and Food Security Presentation in cooperation with Barangay Balibago, led by Barangay Captain Joseph "PG" Ponce and the members of the Sangguniang Barangay.

The workshop gathered barangay officials, community leaders, stakeholders, and prospective urban farmers to introduce innovative agricultural technologies that can transform communities into productive, self-sustaining food producers while creating new livelihood opportunities for Filipino families.

The program opened with a comprehensive presentation by the BB 88 Solutions Group, introducing participants to the BC AGRI-System Climate-Smart Greenhouse, an integrated farming technology designed to promote urban farming, vertical farming, precision agriculture, and climate-resilient food production.

During the presentation, organizers emphasized that the initiative goes beyond traditional farming. It represents a complete agricultural ecosystem developed through the partnership of BB 88 Advertising and Digital Solutions Inc. and Biorganism Corporation, integrating modern technology with sustainable agriculture to improve food security from the grassroots level.

The BC AGRI-System ecosystem encompasses every stage of agricultural development—from greenhouse production, smart farming technologies, hydroponics, crop monitoring, harvesting, post-harvest management, logistics, digital marketing, and online trading to doorstep delivery of fresh agricultural products.

Organizers highlighted that the program is designed to empower every barangay to become an active contributor to local food production while creating sustainable income opportunities for residents through climate-smart agriculture.

"Food security begins within our communities. Every barangay has the potential to become a productive agricultural hub by utilizing modern farming technologies, innovation, and digital solutions," the organizers said during the workshop.

The initiative also demonstrated how the BC AGRI-System integrates technology with community development through digital platforms that connect farmers directly with consumers, reducing post-harvest losses while increasing farmers' profitability and market access.

Barangay Balibago serves as one of the pilot communities envisioned to showcase how local governments can partner with the private sector in promoting sustainable agriculture, food resilience, and inclusive economic development.

The organizers expressed their vision of expanding the program beyond Angeles City, ultimately establishing similar climate-smart agricultural ecosystems in barangays throughout Central Luzon and across the Philippines.

The project is being implemented in close collaboration with national and local development partners, including the Local Government Units (LGUs), the Department of Agriculture (DA), the Department of Science and Technology (DOST), agricultural cooperatives, and the Filipino Inventors Society Multipurpose Cooperative, all of which share the common goal of advancing agricultural innovation and empowering Filipino communities.

Beyond introducing modern farming methods, the workshop underscored the importance of developing a resilient agricultural economy that combines technology, environmental sustainability, entrepreneurship, and community participation.

The BC AGRI-System initiative envisions every barangay as a center for food production, innovation, and livelihood—where modern greenhouse technology, digital agriculture, and cooperative development work together to ensure food availability, generate employment, and improve the quality of life for Filipino families.

As the Philippines continues to face challenges in food security, climate change, and urbanization, BC AGRI-System stands as a model for how technology-driven agriculture can become a catalyst for inclusive growth and sustainable national development.

Through the combined efforts of government agencies, private sector partners, cooperatives, and local communities, the initiative seeks to inspire a new generation of Filipino farmers and entrepreneurs who will lead the country's journey toward a more food-secure, innovative, and self-reliant future.

"One Barangay. One Greenhouse Ecosystem. One Food-Secure Philippines."
