Regional Director Atty. Falconi Millar, Mr. Polly Manansala-OFW Veterans, and Biorganism Corporation President-CEO Mr. Henry V. Bayubay held a meeting yesterday at OWWA Region 3 to discuss a project that would benefit retired OFWs and their families in promoting urban farming in the region.

The Agri-Livelihood for OFW that would link Urban Farming Workshop focus on Biorganism Corporation (BC) group is a flagship project the “Agri-Integrated System Solutions” which aims to promote BC Agri-System  App that leads in helping small farmers to maximize digital technology and enticed the young farmers to go back to farming.

The part of initial discussion was to finalized a program model to introduce an urban farming kit with seeds and fertilizers for “PINAKBET Program” that covers the following program packages such as  monthly support of Biorganism Enhancer base on activities of planting performance, provide information in regards with sustainability,  urban farming that fits their area and provide support using the BC Agri-System App or the  Agri-Integrated System Solutions.

Also included in the module is  a regular weather forecast within the vicinity, data recording system that generates profit and loss, private community chatroom, interactive farm technician available for consultation that will help farmers solve their problem within 24 hours using the agri-tech module and free access to regular online workshops for sustainable farming.

Bayubay said that, “our group advocacy is to extend help to small farmers specially OFW farmers” which he believed are left behind.  He mentioned about his experienced when he encountered a former OFW visited by his group at Echague, Isabela. Ms. Robelyn Sapuay who is suffering from lack of support from the government after he was repatriated 3 years ago because of Pandemic”. It saddened me to see their situation because she told me they are planting a cassava plant “Kamoteng Kahoy” that takes 13 months to grow because of lack of fertilizer and inputs, then they are selling it for 2 pesos per kilo during harvest time.” Bayubay Added.

BC Agri-Integrated System Solutions (AISS) Group believed that, with the partnership of the OFW group it will fasttrack the realization of his group to battle the food security program in the Philippines.
